Farming isn\u2019t such a drag for this drag queen.<\/p>\n

An enterprising UK performer, who goes by \u201cBoo La Croux\u201d on stage, spends his days focusing on agriculture, but his free time on drag culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cI absolutely love drag and horse riding so it has been nice to focus on my two passions,\u201d Dean Goodwin-Evans, 35,<\/a> told Caters. The Herefordshire native\u2019s daily routine consists of cleaning the stables, feeding the 13 horses and six chickens (and then collecting their eggs) and cutting the grass. <\/p>\n

\u201cFortunately, we can put the Shetland ponies on parts of the land who will help with cutting the grass,\u201d explained the drag-riculturalist, adding that the \u201chard work\u201d is ultimately rewarding as he\u2019s caring for app<\/a>reciative animals. <\/p>\n

When he\u2019s not working the land, Evans is \u2014 you guessed it \u2014 working it for the camera, hosting virtual drag shows and mastering his sewing machine.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery day includes an element of drag as I love trialling new looks,\u201d gushes the country boy, who spends his downtime \u201cmaking outfits and styling wigs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always switching up my looks and practising makeup,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Despite being a \u201cvery sociable man as a hairdresser and a drag queen,\u201d Evans told Caters that being around his animal \u201csaviors\u201d has helped him cope with the depression that began during the first nationwide lockdown last spring.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never suffered from mental health issues before but it was a massive shock to the system,\u201d he said. \u201cThey\u2019ve [the animals] given me something to focus on and a reason to get up in the morning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Farming\u2019s also been Evans\u2019 main source of income since last March \u2014 despite the fact that he\u2019s a trained hairdresser. Crafting \u201cdresses and accessories\u201d from scratch helps the self-proclaimed \u201cthrifty queen\u201d keep his cost of living low.<\/p>\n

However, although country living may look good on him, the quarantining drag queen ultimately hopes that lockdown will lift soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just can\u2019t wait to get back on stage and strut my stuff,\u201d said Evans.<\/p>\n
