The Dow Jones Industrial Average\u00a0<br \/>\n        DJIA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210598065\/realtime\" class=\"negative\">-0.46%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0fell 153.07 points, or 0.5%, to end at 32,862.30, after trading at an intraday record in earlier activity, The S&amp;P 500\u00a0<br \/>\n        SPX,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210599714\/realtime\" class=\"negative\">-1.48%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0was down 58.66 points, or 1.5%, to finish at 3,915.46 and The Nasdaq Composite\u00a0<br \/>\n        COMP,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210598365\/realtime\" class=\"negative\">-3.02%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0slumped 409.03 points, or 3%, to close at 13,116.17.<\/p>\n<p>Long-term U.S. bond yields have risen in the past six weeks as economic data has improved and the $1.9 trillion fiscal stimulus bill combined with the Fed\u2019s easy-money policy has raised the specter of inflation. On Thursday the yield on the 10-year Treasury note\u00a0<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">1.707%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0rose to its highest level in more than a year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a palatable fear brewing that the Federal Reserve\u2019s monetary policy will spur on inflation to a level that will ultimately force their hands sooner than later,\u201d Stephen Innes, chief global markets strategist at Axi, wrote in a note. \u201cIndeed this\u00a0is adding to the high degree of inflation uncertainty which is the biggest tail risk the market is now dealing with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, U.S. and Chinese officials met in Alaska, but opening remarks were decidedly pointed and contentious. The world\u2019s two largest economic powers remain at odds over a number of key issues, including trade and human rights.<\/p>\n<p>After sinking 7% Thursday \u2014 its worst day since September \u2014 benchmark U.S. crude\u00a0<br \/>\n        CLJ21,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/209724545\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.10%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n      \u00a0inched higher to $60.06 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
