Publisher Taito and developer Square Enix Montreal have announced<\/a> a new Space Invaders<\/em> game for iOS and Android that incorporates augmented reality features. <\/span><\/p>\n
The new game promises a \u201ccompelling and completely new experience\u201d through a blend of augmented reality technology<\/a> and a modern art style. Players will be able to defend the world against an invasion \u201cwielding the magic of augmented reality and the power of mobile devices.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are extremely inspired by our collaboration with Taito to re-imagine the Space Invaders<\/em> franchise in a contemporary way while shaping it to our ambitious vision of what it can be on mobile,\u201d said Square Enix Montreal head of studio Patrick Naud in a press release. \u201cAt Square Enix Montreal we are huge fans of the franchise and the team has risen to the challenge of showing how all-new technology can breathe fresh energy into a game as timeless as Space Invaders<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
