Mrs. Doubtfire may have been a naughty nanny.<\/p>\n

Fans of the 1993 film starring Robin Williams are demanding to see the racy NC-17 version of the film after a viral tweet suggested it exists<\/a>. Twitter<\/a> account Film Facts claimed that the late actor \u201cimprovised so much\u201d while filming the Chris Columbus-directed flick that \u201cthat there were PG, PG-13, R and NC-17 cuts of the film.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, Twitter users are begging to get\u00a0their hands on this risqu\u00e9 cut.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe public deserves to see the NC-17 Mrs. Doubtfire,\u201d wrote one fan<\/a>. \u201cNC 17 Miss. Doubtfire is what the world needs after over a year of Covid,\u201d chimed in another<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some users even joked about giving up their $1,400 stimulus checks<\/a> for a chance to watch this iconic edit of the movie, which ended up with a PG-13 rating.<\/p>\n

The existence of R- and NC-17-rated versions of \u201cMrs. Doubtfire\u201d stems from a 2015 Yahoo Entertainment\u00a0interview<\/a>\u00a0with Columbus, who\u00a0praised the \u201cMork & Mindy\u201d\u00a0star for his incredible acting and improvisational skills.<\/p>\n

Williams was \u201cwithout a doubt, the best actor I\u2019ve worked with,\u201d the director, who\u2019s also known for \u201cHome Alone,\u201d said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He explained that in order to better facilitate Williams\u2019 gift for improvisation, multiple cameras were positioned at all angles \u2014 \u201clike shooting a documentary\u201d \u2014 to best capture the comic actor\u2019s facial expressions.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor instance, in the dinner scene toward the end of the movie, the other actors had no idea what he was going to say,\u201d Columbus said. \u201cAnd it was getting their expressions and reactions the first time they ever heard him say something like that.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

With Williams\u2019 ability to rapidly spit jokes, Columbus ended up with four different versions of \u2018Mrs. Doubtfire\u2019 on the editing floor. \u201cLiterally, a PG-rated version of the film, PG-13, R and NC-17,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

Mara Wilson,\u00a0who played Williams\u2019 daughter in the movie, also confirmed that there might be an R-rated edit out there somewhere since the star liked to push boundaries and test limits.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know about NC-17, but with some of the things [Robin] said, I\u2019m sure there was probably an R cut somewhere,\u201d the actress, now 33, said on Logo\u2019s\u00a0\u201cCocktails & Classics\u201d<\/a> in 2016.<\/p>\n

Fans will still get another version of the character one way or another, because the story\u00a0has\u00a0been adapted into a musical \u2014 though its premiere on Broadway is on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.\u00a0\n <\/p><\/div>\n
