Thanks to a Brooklyn rabbi, now there\u2019s a new holiday to celebrate with the \u201cSeinfeld\u201d gang: Passover. Giddy up!<\/p>\n<p>When the Passover seder \u2014 the Jewish people\u2019s retelling of the story of the Exodus from slavery to freedom \u2014 begins Saturday at sundown, it can feel like a marathon sitting through the entire Haggadah text that is recited during the seder meal. But Rabbi Sam Reinstein is making it a \u201cSeinfeld\u201d marathon with his new book, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Haggadah-About-Nothing-Unofficial-Seinfeld\/dp\/0578832828\/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&amp;keywords=The+Haggadah+About+Nothing&amp;qid=1615300631&amp;sr=8-1&amp;tag=nypost-20\">\u201cThe Haggadah About Nothing: The (Unofficial) \u2018Seinfeld\u2019 Haggadah.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love the sitcom, I love Passover and I started to map out a surprising number of overlapping <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a>s and undercurrents between the two,\u201d Reinstein told The Post. The 31-year-old married father of three was inspired to write the book last year while watching the show on overnight shifts feeding his twin daughters, now 10 months old.<\/p>\n<p>A Modern Orthodox rabbi in Crown Heights, Reinstein relates the story\u2019s four sons and 10 plagues through the prism of the show\u2019s characters. Conceptually, it really is the same idea and same overall meaning. If you don\u2019t try to move forward and evolve, then you\u2019ll be [condemned to be] the \u2018Seinfeld\u2019 characters; if you do, you\u2019ll be free on Passover.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Jewish people abstain from all manner of leavened bread (\u201cchametz\u201d in Hebrew) during the eight-day holiday. Reinstein\u2019s take: \u201cJerry treats his girlfriends the way Jews treat chametz before Passover, by rapidly ridding himself of any relationship with a crumb of imperfection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sure, George Costanza \u2014 who once said, \u201cNo way wine is better than Pepsi\u201d \u2014 would probably grouse at the four cups of wine you must drink.
