\n He lived life to the\u00a0feline fullest.<\/p>\n

Rubble, long considered the world\u2019s oldest cat, has passed away at the age of 31 \u2014 or 150 in human years, according to People magazine.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was an amazing companion that I had the pleasure to live with for such a long time,\u201d said his owner, Michele Heritage of Exeter, England.<\/p>\n

Now 52, Heritage was given Rubble as a gift for her 32nd birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was part of a litter of cats that my sister\u2019s friend had and I had just left home,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI was lonely living on my own, so I got him in as a kitten.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heritage attributed Rubble\u2019s longevity to her doting care and attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have always treated him like a child,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t have any children and had another cat who passed at the age of 25. If you care about something, no matter what it is, it does last.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rubble\u2019s condition suddenly began to falter towards the end of his life and he eventually stopped eating and would only drink water.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a creature of habit,\u201d she added. \u201c[He] had his favorite places to sleep and liked his food, so when that stopped happ<\/a>ening, we knew.\u201d<\/p>\n

The aged feline recently left home one day and never returned.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe he went off to die as cats do,\u201d Heritage told People.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
