Bloomberg said Discord has previously talked with Amazon.com Inc.<br \/>\n        AMZN,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210331248\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+1.17%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       and \u201cFortnite\u201d maker Epic Games Inc. <\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       One source, however, told Bloomberg that Discord was more likely to go public than sell.<\/p>\n<p>Discord recently hired a new chief financial officer as a first step toward a potential IPO, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/chat-startup-discord-hires-its-first-finance-chief-to-boost-growth-11616086771?mod=searchresults_pos1&amp;page=1\" class=\"icon none\">the Wall Street Journal reported<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco-based Discord has raised about $480 million in funding, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/organization\/discord\/company_financials\" class=\"icon none\">according to Crunchbase<\/a>, and most recently closed a $100 million funding round in December, at a valuation of around $7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Discord is a free service that lets users communicate through video, voice and text. It also offers a $9.99-a-month sub<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>ion service with additional features. According to the Journal report, the company had about 140 million monthly users last year, generating $130 million in annual revenue, about three times what it made the year before.<\/p>\n<p>The company also made headlines in January after it briefly removed the WallStreetBets server amid the meme-stock frenzy, though Discord said the move was to counter hateful and discriminatory conduct. Discord then reversed course and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2021\/1\/28\/22254339\/discord-r-wallstreetbets-server-help-moderation-ban\" class=\"icon none\">started helping WallStreetBets moderators<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft<br \/>\n        MSFT,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/207732364\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+2.45%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       has reportedly been\u00a0targeting active online communities that it can pair with its cloud platform, and the Financial Times last month reported it had tried to buy <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pinterest<\/a> Inc.<br \/>\n        PINS,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/211319641\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.90%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       in recent months.
