2K Games has acquired<\/a> HookBang\u2019s Austin-based video game division, which it will integrate with Visual Concepts, a wholly-owned studio and developer of the NBA 2K<\/em> franchise. <\/span><\/p>\n
The acquired team will be renamed Visual Concepts Austin and join Visual Concept\u2019s family of current locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, greater Los Angeles, and Orange County, California, as well as Vancouver, Seoul, Shanghai, and Budapest.<\/p>\n
The studio will operate from an unannounced new location in the Austin, Texas metropolitan area and employ \u201chundreds of developers\u201d to support NBA 2K<\/em>, as well as 2K Games\u2019 publishing business.<\/p>\n

HookBang was founded in 2012 and recently partnered with Visual Concepts to provide art, design, and engineering support for NBA 2K21<\/em>.<\/p>\n
