\nWe\u2019ve always been curious about Anna Faris<\/strong> and Chris Pratt<\/strong>\u2019s breakup.<\/p>\n

At this point, both parties have moved on, and the actor even welcomed his first child with new wife Katherine Schwarzenegger<\/strong> last year. But back in the day, Chris and Anna were one of those beloved Hollywood couples that just broke your heart when they announced their split. We had some ideas about what caused it, but now, the actress has shared her own insight into the end.<\/p>\n

On her podcast Unqualified with Anna Faris<\/em>, Jack Pratt<\/strong>\u2019s mom swapp<\/a>ed divorce stories with Gwyneth Paltrow<\/strong>. For Anna, that meant not just her relationship with the Parks & Rec<\/em> alum, but also her first marriage to Ben Indra<\/strong>. According to her, both breakups boiled down to the same thing.<\/p>\n

She explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cMy two other marriages were with actors and I don\u2019t think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness. Or at least I didn\u2019t, being a proud person, and not wanting to reveal vulnerability.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At the time of her split from the Marvel<\/strong> star, the 44-year-old had several popular movies<\/a> under her belt and was leading a popular primetime sitcom, Mom<\/em>. But few actors could top Chris Pratt\u2019s late-2010s hot streak, where he quickly went from the schlubby guy on an NBC<\/strong> show to the face of major film franchises like Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> and Jurassic World<\/em>. Both were industry successes in their own right, but we could see where the difference might cause some tension.<\/p>\n

Anna added:<\/p>\n

\u201cAny hint of competitiveness and comparison, I didn\u2019t handle that very well, I don\u2019t think. And I hope I\u2019ve grown from that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Goop<\/strong> founder reflected on breaking up with her own famous Chris<\/strong> (Martin<\/strong>), sharing:<\/p>\n

\u201cI really, for a long time, was choosing men and trying to work s**t out with them that I had no business trying to do in a romantic relationship. It was work I needed to do myself. In a divorce, I\u2019ve learned so much from something I wanted least in the world\u2026 I never would have wanted to not be married to the father of my kids, theoretically. But I have learned more about myself through that process than I could have imagined.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She also described how her husband of three years, Brad Falchuk<\/strong>, has challenged her and helped her grow. She explained:<\/p>\n

\u201c[He] is a person who demands presence and intimacy and communication in a way that I just didn\u2019t know how to \u2014 I like to fight by shutting down. I\u2019m like, \u2018Goodbye.\u2019 I, like, leave the room. \u2026 He was like, \u2018No, absolutely not. We\u2019re sitting down, and we\u2019re figuring this out.\u2019 He demands that I\u2019m honest with myself in a way that is hard for me, but which really helps me grow. It was like being with some kind of jujitsu master where they\u2019re like, \u2018No, I\u2019m going to make you see your own stuff for you to be able to win and advance.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Scary Movie<\/em> star found similarities in her relationship with her current fianc\u00e9e, Michael Barrett<\/strong>. She said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m engaged to a man who\u2019s demanded the same thing, which I had never had before. I had never been confronted with intense eye contact actually\u2026 Sometimes it can be pretty hot.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We\u2019re glad to hear both of these ladies are happy, healthy, and thriving \u2014 romantically and otherwise!<\/p>\n
