You can choose your own adventure when \u201cBlack Widow\u201d is released \u2014 watching it from either your couch or on the big screen.<\/p>\n

Disney announced that the Scarlett Johansson-led film will debut simultaneously on both the Disney+ streaming platform as well as in theaters later this year. However, there\u2019s a catch: You must have a premium subscript<\/a>ion to watch the Marvel movie.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Black Widow,\u2019 in theaters July 9 and on @DisneyPlus with Premier Access. Additional fees required,\u201d a Tuesday tweet announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Premier Access is an additional $30 charge on top of the Disney+ subscription<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Having been delayed due to the pandemic, \u201cBlack Widow\u201d was pushed back again \u2014 this time two months to July 9, from its May 7 release date.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlack Widow,\u201d which co-stars Florence Pugh, isn\u2019t the only movie that will get the on-demand, in-theater treatment. \u201cCruella,\u201d starring Emma Stone, will also screen in theaters at the same time as it becomes available on the streaming service on May 28. It, too, will be available on Premier Access for $30.<\/p>\n

Marvel\u2019s \u201cShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,\u201d however, will hit theaters for a traditional release on Sept. 3, Variety reported<\/a>, and Pixar\u2019s \u201cLuca\u201d will become available on Disney+ on June 18 without any extra costs.<\/p>\n

Disney released \u201cMulan\u201d and \u201cRaya and the Last Dragon\u201d through Premier Access on the Disney+ streaming platform, but execs said \u201cMulan\u201d was a one-off after reporting box office losses.<\/p>\n

Movie theaters finally\u00a0reopened in New York City this month, with \u201cRaya\u201d leading the box office earnings for its opening weekend.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
