\n A 3-year-old boy was seriously hurt when he put his hand into a bagel-making machine at his father\u2019s workplace on Long Island, police said.<\/p>\n

Donaldo Almendarez, 50, was on the job Friday at JP Wholesale Baking in Holbrook when his wife, daughter and son dropped by around 9:45 p.m. for a visit, Suffolk County Police said Saturday.<\/p>\n

The boy, Thiago Almendarez, reached into the machine, seriously injuring his hand, authorities said. His father then severed the tip of his finger while inspecting the machine, police said.<\/p>\n

Both were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Suffolk County detectives are investigating the incident.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
