Publishers 3D Realms and 1C Entertainment, and developer Voidpoint will release the September 2020-teased \u201cAftershock\u201d expansion pack for Ion Fury<\/em> this summer for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, the companies announced. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Aftershock\u2019 continues Shelly\u2019s story in the best way possible: with rockets and high-speed chases,\u201d said 3D Realms CEO Mike Nielsen in a press release. \u201cWe love seeing the Build engine continue to grow and Ion Fury: Aftershock<\/em> does some awesome things that we can\u2019t wait to share with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

After defeating Heskel in her previous adventure, Shelly Harrison decides to celebrate at a local bar. When explosions interrupt her tasty beverage, she rushes out to find Heskel in a monstrous flying machine, cackling madly as he rockets away toward a mushroom cloud on the horizon.<\/p>\n

Instinctively, she reaches for her Loverboy revolver, cocks it, and searches for the fastest transportation she can find\u2014a sleek and powerful high-speed Hover Bike, armed with Drunken Homing Plasma Missiles. Shelly\u2019s fight against Heskel continues with multiple brand-new zones to explore, new dangerous enemies, new armaments to destroy them with, and some amazing high-speed vehicle combat.<\/p>\n

Like classic expansions, \u201cAftershock\u201d offers a brand new Arrange mode. Whether playing for the first time or revisiting Ion Fury<\/em>, choose Arrange mode to experience the original game<\/a> but now enhanced with new enemies, weapons and more.<\/p>\n

Rendered in the very same Build Engine that powered beloved titles like Duke Nukem 3D<\/em> and Shadow Warrior<\/em>, Ion Fury<\/em> takes the classic shooter framework and injects a bit of modern mayhem with features like headshots. Voidpoint didn\u2019t just make a game inspired by ;90s shooters: they practically time-travel<\/a>led and created their own \u201890s shooter.\u201d<\/p>\n
