\nMeghan McCain<\/strong> backed Chrissy Teigen<\/strong>\u2019s decision to deactivate her Twitter<\/strong> account after 10 years on the platform in an interesting<\/em> way\u2026<\/p>\n

On Thursday\u2019s episode of The View<\/em>, the controversial co-host agreed with the Cravings<\/em> author\u2019s move to leave, as well as opened up about how personal online attacks from trolls have also affected her mental health in a similar way. And just when you thought McCain would make a short anecdote and move on, well, she didn\u2019t. Instead, she opted to focus the topic on herself. Shocker\u2026<\/p>\n

While she would love to quit the platform like Chrissy, the conservative columnist explained she cannot leave due to \u201cprofessional obligations\u201d \u2014 whatever that means.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get why Chrissy Teigen can\u2019t do it. It has 100% impacted my mental health. I have suffered from depression because of things people have done to me on social media. But I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m in a place where I can quit social media. It\u2019s a catch-22, we\u2019re living in a toxic time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thing is that I spend a quarter of my life trending on Twitter. I was trending on Twitter yesterday. And 9 million times \u2014 I don\u2019t think it\u2019s ever been positive. It\u2019s always something negative, and it\u2019s not just random people. It\u2019s people with blue check marks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

ICYMI, the TV personality faced some heat for her remarks on Wednesday\u2019s The View<\/em> topic about \u201cidentity politics,\u201d AKA race, outweighing qualifications in the workplace. McCain went on to stress how she\u2019s not looking for a \u201cpity party\u201d because she \u201cchose to do this work.\u201d The author believed that she gets so much hate on Twitter because people don\u2019t agree with her political views. While that\u2019s alright, she did say she takes offense when the insults become too \u201cpersonal.\u201d<\/p>\n
