Atlantic City will reportedly redo a massive Black Lives Matter mural on a busy downtown roadway because the original one confused drivers by concealing lane divider markings.<\/p>\n

The City Council on Wednesday voted to shell out $36,000 for the project, which will first require the road \u2014\u00a0Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard \u2014 to be repaved, before a new mural is painted, the Associated Press reported. <\/p>\n

Repaving is necessary because the yellow paint used in the first tribute cannot be painted over, the report said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an oversight on our part, and when we realized it, we fixed it,\u201d Mayor Marty Small said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe words \u2018Black Lives Matter\u2019 will still be on the street.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first mural obscured the double yellow lines dividing the four-lane road. The broken white lines dividing same-direction lanes were also colored over.<\/p>\n
