\nIf you thought\u00a0Chrissy Teigen<\/strong> saying goodbye to Twitter<\/a><\/strong> meant you weren\u2019t going to hear her hot takes on important topics anymore, think again!<\/p>\n

On Thursday, just a day after her huge social media exit, the Lip Sync Battle<\/em> host was a guest on\u00a0The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/em>, and she took the opportunity to make some really important points about the rise of anti-Asian violence.<\/p>\n

As the daughter of an immigrant from Thailand, Chrissy has seen racism firsthand \u2014 and feels just fine calling out those who have been pouring fuel on that fire. She told\u00a0Kelly Clarkson<\/strong> she absolutely thinks it was the response to the coronavirus that caused the most recent spike:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we just came out of a long line of politicians that put a target on Asian people\u2019s backs by calling it \u2018the China virus.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While she didn\u2019t mention the name\u00a0Donald Trump<\/strong>, she didn\u2019t really have to, did she? Right away tons of conscientious folks were calling out the ex-president\u2019s xenophobic reference to the pandemic as the CHY-NA VIRUS, warning it was something that would lead to violence.<\/p>\n

Some of his cronies may have followed suit, but he was always the leader on that particular trend. Hell, he even called<\/a> it the \u201cKung Flu\u201d like some kind of racist shock jock. Ugh.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately that racism filtered down to his base who truly have become their worst selves over the past few years. And it\u2019s made it a scary time to be Asian in this country.<\/p>\n

\u201cI automatically think of when my mom\u2019s without me, \u2018How do people look at her? How do people treat her?\u2019 A lot of mothers and fathers are being targeted around the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She also blasted the pols who seem resolved to deny hate crimes even exist, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so obvious to me what the motive is. It doesn\u2019t seem to be obvious to the politicians out there that are saying, \u2018We\u2019re not quite sure of the motive,\u2019 but I think we know what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She encouraged those who want to do something to help the AAPI community to start by donating to organizations like Stop AAPI Hate<\/strong> or 18 Million Rising<\/strong> \u2014 but also to spend a little money at their local Asian-owned businesses:<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean these things are disapp<\/a>earing quicker than we know it and soon they\u2019re going to be gone. It\u2019s heartbreaking to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
