data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> fabric in so many communities. <\/p>\n<p> Perhaps even more unbelievable is that in spite of widespread job losses, small-business closures and big questions about economic rebounds, markets did just fine.  But here we are, one year after the start of the 2020 bull market, and things look a lot rosier. <\/p>\n<p>That means there\u2019s no better time for the First Annual Totally Unofficial Completely Unserious ETF Idea Contest.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       The rules for the FATUCUEIC are as simple as its name. Good luck!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for reading \u2014 and playing along at home, we hope.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"March_2020_a_teachable_moment\"><\/span>March 2020: a teachable moment?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Much of the coverage of the one-year anniversary of the bull market has focused on the outcomes since then: the outrageous fortunes for many equities, the dawning of a new reflationary regime, and so on. <\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s also important to remember the mayhem that engulfed markets for several scary weeks last March. At the time, MarketWatch called it \u201cwhack-a-mole\u201d because one section of the markets would flare up, get soothed, only to have another start breaking. <\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>That was an \u201cunprecedented, even once-in-a-generation\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of events, said Rich Lee, head of program trading with Baird. <\/p>\n<p>Lee likes to look at the glass-half-full version of that dislocation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe extreme market activity we saw, I think highlighted and brought to light the functions of how ETFs work,\u201d he said in an interview with ETF Wrap. In particular, Lee highlighted the disconnect between the way bond funds traded and how their component securities traded \u2014 or didn\u2019t trade. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarket participants didn\u2019t really think about how creations and redemptions affect an ETF,\u201d he said. But during those weeks of panic, when ETFs held together, \u201cit highlighted all the different pieces that go into pricing an ETF. Overall, the market benefitted because everyone is more educated now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps another takeaway is that ETFs \u201cworked,\u201d Lee said. If that sounds mundane,  don\u2019t forget there were multiple instances when stock-market trading was halted. <\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s just hope panic like that is truly once in a generation. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Exchange-traded_sundries\"><\/span>Exchange-traded sundries<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Charles Schwab Investment Management will launch the <strong>Schwab International Dividend Equity ETF <\/strong>in late April. The fund is designed to be among the lowest-cost ETFs with exposure to international dividend equities. \u201cEvery day, about 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 and many of them \u2013\u2013 as well as other investors \u2013\u2013 are seeking income strategies,\u201d Schwab said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Add asset management heavyweight Fidelity Investments to the list of firms applying to offer a <strong>Bitcoin ETF,<\/strong> according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1852317\/000119312521092598\/d133565ds1.htm\" class=\"icon none\">an SEC filling<\/a>. Fidelity has offered a private bitcoin investment fund to qualified investors since 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Happy birthday, ANTs! As Todd Rosenbluth, head of mutual fund and ETF research at CFRA, noted <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=s5fYUISFyLw\" class=\"icon none\">in a recent analysis<\/a>, <strong>active non-transparent ETFs <\/strong>were first launched in late March 2020. There are now about two dozen funds tracking this strategy, with about $1.4 billion in assets. <\/p>\n<p>With vaccinations ramping up, what\u2019s on your <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> bucket list?
