A continuation of Kim\u2019s Convenience<\/i> is on the way. CBC has ordered a spin-off of the comedy series starring Nicole Power titled Run the Burbs<\/i>. Strays<\/i> is the other spin-off ordered by CBC, and it is not known at this time if either spin-off will air on Netflix after they premiere next season.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

It was announced earlier this month that Kim\u2019s Convenience<\/i> would end with five seasons after initially being renewed through season six.<\/p>\n

CBC revealed more about the two spin-offs from Kim\u2019s Convenience<\/i> in a press release. Check that out below.<\/p>\n

\u201cCBC is announcing initial details for two new original half-hour comedy series featuring Kim\u2019s Convenience<\/i> stars Andrew Phung and Nicole Power \u2013 RUN THE BURBS<\/i> and STRAYS<\/i> \u2013 with both shows set to launch during the upcoming 2021-22 broadcast season.<\/p>\n

Created by comedia<\/a>n, writer and actor Andrew Phung and his best friend and collaborator, filmmaker Scott Townend (The Secret Marathon<\/i>), RUN THE BURBS<\/i> is a new original comedy about a young, bold Canadian family taking a different app<\/a>roach to living life to the fullest in the suburbs, featuring Phung as a stay-at-home dad with an entrepreneur wife and two kids. The series has been in development since May 2020 and is produced by Pier 21 Films, with additional details to be announced later this spring.<\/p>\n

STRAYS<\/i> follows the upbeat and enthusiastic Kim\u2019s Convenience character Shannon Ross (Nicole Power) as she embarks on a new career in Hamilton, Ontario alongside an ensemble cast including Frank Cox O\u2019Connell (Soulpepper Theatre<\/i>), Tina Jung (Suits, Second Jen<\/i>), Nikki Duval (Workin\u2019 Moms), Kevin Vidal (Workin\u2019 Moms<\/i>), Tony Nappo (Pretty Hard Cases<\/i>), Paula Boudreau (Workin\u2019 Moms<\/i>) and Emily Piggford (The Sounds, Warigami<\/i>). Created by Kevin White (Kim\u2019s Convenience, Schitt\u2019s Creek)<\/i> and produced by Thunderbird Entertainment, the series has been in development since July 2018 and is currently in production. More details will be announced later this spring.<\/p>\n
