It\u2019s a worm-nado!<\/p>\n

Just in time for this weekend\u2019s \u201cWorm Moon<\/a>,\u201d thousands of worms swarmed the sidewalks of the Hoboken waterfront this week in circling, tornado patterns.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorm Tornado?\u201d city councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher,\u00a0tweeted<\/a> along with gruesome pics of the hordes of invertebrate annelids, asking: \u201cHas anyone ever seen anything like this?\u201d<\/p>\n

The whorls of worms app<\/a>eared \u201cseveral hundred feet upland, on the concrete walkway outside a condo building called Maxwell Place,\u201d according to local news<\/a> site Patch<\/a>, making it unlikely they were deposited on the sidewalk via unruly tides.<\/p>\n

Theories spread on Twitter included \u201cearthworm herding,\u201d a massive earthworm orgy or that the worms resurfaced en masse due to rain in the area and environmental changes.<\/p>\n
