Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday said that \u201cmore and more\u201d baseball fans could be allowed to return to the stands at game<\/a>s starting in the late spring.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would expect that as we get through the summer \u2014 late spring, early summer \u2014 there\u2019s going to be a relaxation where you\u2019re going to have more and more people allowed into baseball parks, very likely separated with seating, very likely continue to wear masks,\u201d Fauci told CBS anchor Margaret Brennan on \u201cFace the Nation.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

The Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that restrictions will likely gradually become more relaxed as a larger number of Americans are vaccinated against COVID-19.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think if we do it correctly and we get the vaccines out at the rate we\u2019re doing, that will happ<\/a>en,\u201d he said, referring to fans\u2019 return to the ballpark this year.<\/p>\n

Currently, the MLB permits fans to attend games with social<\/a>-distancing and mask rules, but each ballpark\u2019s capacity limits are dependent on local government restrictions.<\/p>\n

In New York, Yankee Stadium and CitiField are facing 20 percent capacity caps.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
