Horrifying video footage shows a man casually heading into a small Big App<\/a>le boutique \u2014 then leaping across the register to slash the lone store assistant across the face, almost slicing off her nose.<\/p>\n

The attacker \u2014 wearing a distinctive black Adidas tracksuit with purple and orange bands on the arms \u2014 was caught on surveillance footage shared by the NYPD as he casually strolled down Audubon Avenue in Washington Heights just after 3:40 p.m. on Friday.<\/p>\n

He paused to put his face up to the window of Steph\u2019s Designs, walking inside to casually talk to the lone staffer, Desteny Cabrera, who did not know him, the NYPD said.<\/p>\n

After initially having his hands in his pockets, within seconds of chatting he suddenly leaped across the counter \u2014 slashing the 22-year-old stranger across the face,\u00a0the footage first shared by the store shows<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The knifeman fled from the store, trip<\/a>ping as he ran outside before racing across the street.<\/p>\n

Footage posted by the store shows Cabrera standing up in shock \u2014 with blood pouring from her face into her hand.<\/p>\n

She was rushed to a Harlem hospital in \u201cserious condition,\u201d the NYPD said \u2014 with police sources telling The Post that she needed surgery to reattach her nose.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u00a0nearly lost my life<\/a>, I am beyond grateful and blessed to be alive!\u201d Cabrera posted on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy recovery is more than just a reconstruction on my nose, it\u2019s about not being able to fall asleep because you see this man\u2019s face. It\u2019s about waking up and shaking because you replay (sic) such a vivid moment over and over again.\u201d <\/p>\n

A friend also posted an online fundraiser for the victim.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to the fact I was seriously injured and I left out which led me to emergency surgery I\u2019ll be needing multiple reconstructions,\u201d she wrote \u2014 with more than $15,500 already raised.<\/p>\n

Despite being a stranger, the store believes the same man was caught casing out the store exactly a week earlier \u2014 when his victim was not there because it was her birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast Friday he passed by the store several times and actually got close to the windows to look inside as if he was looking for somebody and then walked away,\u201d the store posted on social media\u00a0alongside more video\u00a0<\/a>footage.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of now we are doing everything we can to locate this criminal,\u201d the store wrote of the attack on its \u201cdearly friend\/sister\/store manager Desteny.\u201d<\/p>\n

So far there is no known motive for the attack, police sources said.<\/p>\n
