start a holiday-shortened week. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cA stronger U.S. dollar index recently remains a negative element for the metals markets,\u201d wrote Jim Wyckoff, senior analyst at Kitco.com. <\/p>\n<p>Gold for April delivery<br \/>\n        GC00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210034565\/delayed\" class=\"negative\">-0.59%<\/bg-quote><\/p>\n<p>        GCJ21,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/212606756\/delayed\" class=\"negative\">-0.59%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was off $10.30, or 0.6%, to trade at $1,721.40 an ounce, following a 0.5% weekly slump. <\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Commodity markets and other financial markets will be closed on Good Friday this week. <\/p>\n<p>May silver<br \/>\n        SIK21,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/213039318\/delayed\" class=\"negative\">-1.07%<\/bg-quote><\/p>\n<p>        SI00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210315219\/delayed\" class=\"negative\">-1.07%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n      \u00a0meanwhile, shed 29 cents, or 1.2%, to trade at $24.83 an ounce, after posting 4.6% decline for the week on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Bullion\u2019s decline on Monday come amid <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> that a large investment fund, Archegos Capital Management, had dumped $30 billion in holdings, including big positions in ViacomCBS<br \/>\n        VIAC,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/200340870\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-27.31%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       and Discovery<br \/>\n        DISCA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/200511275\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-27.45%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       making some investors concerned about contagion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the markets to see a contagion effect,\u00a0gold\u00a0and silver markets could quickly see bids coming in,\u201d wrote Wyckoff. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar was holding steady, up less than 0.1% at 92.79, as measured by the ICE U.S. Dollar Index<br \/>\n        DXY,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210598269\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.00%<\/bg-quote><span>.<\/span><br \/>\n       A stronger dollar can weigh on dollar-priced assets, making them more expensive for overseas buyers. The 10-year Treasury note<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">1.649%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was yielding 1.65%, retreating by about 2 basis points.
