Like a bolt of lightning, Warner Bros. has set the official release date for\u00a0Black Adam<\/em><\/strong>. The long-awaited comic book movie starring\u00a0Dwayne Johnson<\/strong> will hit theaters summer 2022. Read on to find out the official\u00a0Black Adam<\/em> release date.<\/p>\n

Warner Bros. has set the\u00a0Black Adam<\/em> release date for July 29, 2022<\/strong>. Dwayne Johnson, who is starring as the titular character, also shared the date on his\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0Sunday, teasing, \u201cA disruptive and unstoppable global force of a message from the man in black himself\u2026 The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change.\u201d

The news<\/a> of the official release date comes shortly after\u00a0Pierce Brosnan<\/strong> was announced to join the cast of\u00a0Black Adam<\/em>, as one of the members of the\u00a0Justice Society Of America, a group of superheroes who are tasked with stopping Johnson\u2019s titular antihero when he breaks out of his super-prison. Also part of that group are\u00a0Aldis Hodge<\/strong>\u00a0as Hawkman,\u00a0Noah Centineo<\/strong>\u00a0as Atom Smasher, and\u00a0Quintessa Swindell<\/strong>\u00a0as Cyclone.\u00a0Marwan Kenzari<\/strong>\u00a0is also on board as the movie\u2019s villain.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Black Adam<\/em>, Dwayne Johnson plays the title character,\u00a0a member of an ancient civilization chosen by the Council of Wizards \u2013 who also helped out Billy Batson in\u00a0Shazam!<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0to become a hero and save his people. But when Black Adam\u2019s methods were considered to be too cruel and villainous, he was imprisoned by the council for 5000 years. But when he escapes, it\u2019s up to the Justice Society to stop him.<\/p>\n

Jaume Collet-Serra directs\u00a0Black Adam<\/em>, which is heading toward an April production start in Atlanta.\u00a0Rory Haines<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Sohrab Noshirvani<\/strong>\u00a0wrote the latest draft of the script<\/a> from\u00a0Adam Sztykiel<\/strong>\u2018s previous draft. Johnson,\u00a0Dany Garcia<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Hiram Garcia<\/strong>\u00a0of Seven Bucks Productions are producing with\u00a0Beau Flynn<\/strong>\u00a0of FlynnPictureCo.
