This trend is perfect for anyone thirsty for attention.<\/p>\n

Camel-impersonating celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Julianne Hough and Lucy Hale are redefining the idea of the covetable accessory. Instead of a pricey It bag, they\u2019re lugging around massive gallon and half-gallon water bottles.<\/p>\n

The idea, of course, is that the vessel motivates you to drink more H20 throughout the day. The recommended daily intake is eight glasses, or 64 ounces, per day. But if you\u2019re downing a gallon, you\u2019re getting exactly double that amount. <\/p>\n

Like many glowing gals, \u201cDancing With the Stars\u201d alum Hough has long touted guzzling water as beauty advice. But even she\u2019s leveled up to a full gallon from her past puny bottles. <\/p>\n

\u201cI have this water bottle that goes everywhere with me,\u201d she told Delish Magazine<\/a> in 2018.\u00a0\u201cEvery night, before bed, I put ice in it and fill it to the top \u2014 it holds 40 ounces of water \u2014 and I drink it throughout the night. Not all of it, obviously, but\u00a0I have to have cold water before I go to bed.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the gargantuan bottle is convenient, it can also act as a hydration nanny.<\/p>\n

Recent Twitter quitter<\/a> Chrissy Teigen and supermodel Jenner both proudly carry the popular HydroMate Motivational water bottle<\/a>, the gallon version of which sells for $27.98 on Amazon. The bottle features time markers that measure your hourly hydration, essentially telling you when you are falling behind. \u201cReady. Set. Drink!\u201d it says on the 8 a.m. slot. \u201cNo excuses,\u201d reads the 4 p.m. tick. (Sadly, it doesn\u2019t come with adult diapers, which may be necessary when guzzling all that liquid.)<\/p>\n

In March, \u201c50 Shades of Grey\u201d star Dakota Johnson was photographed on the set of \u201cAm I OK?\u201d lugging a gallon jug, which, based on her tilted posture, app<\/a>eared to be heavy. Indeed, a full gallon of water weighs more than 8 pounds, allowing it to double as a portable dumbbell for impromptu bicep curls on the go. Fun!<\/p>\n

But is the whopper water bottle really more about substance than style? Beth Czerwony, a registered dietitian at the Cleveland Clinic, poured cold water on the practice as a universal standard. <\/p>\n

\u201cDrinking a gallon of water a day is not really necessary, but it\u2019s not going to hurt you either,\u201d Czerwony said. \u201cEverybody\u2019s hydration levels are different, but most people don\u2019t need a daily gallon.\u201d<\/p>\n
