{"id":214148,"date":"2021-03-30T00:25:44","date_gmt":"2021-03-29T21:25:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/bears-are-acting-way-too-friendly-due-to-deadly-disease\/"},"modified":"2021-03-30T00:25:44","modified_gmt":"2021-03-29T21:25:44","slug":"bears-are-acting-way-too-friendly-due-to-deadly-disease","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/bears-are-acting-way-too-friendly-due-to-deadly-disease\/","title":{"rendered":"#Bears are acting way too friendly due to deadly disease"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Bears are acting way too friendly due to deadly disease<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>This malady is turning bears dog-like \u2014 and permanently crippling them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Following a number of recent incidents with bears in California\u2019s Tahoe Basin being reported for acting strangely, seemingly unafraid of humans and eager to do distinctly un-bear-like things, the state\u2019s Department of Fish and Wildlife has published a blog on the sad reason for the behavior: encephalitis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNecropsies on the afflicted bears have confirmed encephalitis but the root cause of the disease remains a mystery,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wildlife.ca.gov\/Conservation\/Mammals\/Black-Bear\/Blog\/tag\/encephalitis\">the post<\/a> states, attributing various bears\u2019 bizarre behavior to the brain-inflating condition, which is manifesting from an unknown origin \u2014 although, in the process of looking into it, scientists have discovered five novel viruses which may be to blame.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComplicating matters for wildlife officials, the neurologically dull bears <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear friendly to the public. That bear, which should have weighed approximately 80 pounds but only clocked in at 21, was found covered in ticks, acting confused, hopping into car trunks and accepting human attention, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/california\/article250247805.html\">the Sacramento Bee<\/a> reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomeone opened the trunk and it climbed in the trunk and that is not normal behavior. And that\u2019s got to be a red flag right? That\u2019s got to be a red flag that something is not right,\u201d Dr. Brandon Munk commented to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sacramento.cbslocal.com\/2021\/03\/26\/not-normal-behavior-bears-behaving-oddly-raising-red-flags-about-mystery-disease\/\">CBS Sacramento<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>It could also be dangerous for humans, too, Munk said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext thing you know, maybe I\u2019ll just hand feed it and see if it takes it out of my hand. You know those are situations where you\u2019re getting a lot closer to getting bit potentially.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After being taken to a laboratory for observation, the bear was found to have neurologic abnormalities which made its life untenable, and it was euthanized.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Encephalitis does not always end in death, however: A bear which went viral after stepping onto a snowboard at a ski resort in 2019 continues to live \u2014 with significant veterinary care and no full recovery yet \u2014 at the San Diego Humane Society\u2019s Ramona Campus, and is now three years old and named Benji.\u00a0\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
