A mysterious tweet from the US Strategic Command that sent internet sleuths into a frenzy over the weekend was actually the work of a precocious tot who was left unattended with a laptop.<\/p>\n

The garbled post app<\/a>eared Sunday on the agency\u2019s official US Stratcom Twitter account<\/a> and quickly went viral with thousands of likes and retweets.<\/p>\n

\u201c;l;;gmlxzssaw,\u201d it read.<\/p>\n

Strategic Command is responsible for all American nuclear war-fighting forces \u2014 leading some Twitter denizens to joke that the agency accidentally tweeted out the nuclear launch code.<\/a><\/p>\n

Others cracked that a cat walked across the keyboard.<\/a><\/p>\n

The unintelligible tweet also circulated among the QAnon crowd, with some believing it was secret message.<\/a><\/p>\n

The gibberish was deleted shortly after, with the red-faced agency issuing another tweet, \u201cApologizes [sic] for any confusion. Please disregard this post.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stratcom owned up to the snafu in a response to a Freedom of Information Act request from the Daily Dot<\/a> \u2014 explaining that the work was not that of a hacker but instead of a small saboteur.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Command\u2019s Twitter manager, while in telework status, momentarily left the Command\u2019s Twitter account open and unattended,\u201d the statement to the outlet said. \u201cHis very young child took advantage of the situation and started playing with the keys and unfortunately, and unknowingly, posted the tweet.\u201d<\/p>\n

It added, \u201cAbsolutely nothing nefarious occurred, i.e., no hacking of our Twitter account. The post was discovered and notice to delete it occurred telephonically.\u201d<\/p>\n
