Charlotte Flair\u2019s sudden absence from WWE television and WrestleMania promotion goes beyond her COVID-19 diagnosis.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old\u2019s fianc\u00e9 Andrade, a fellow wrestler whom WWE recently released at his request, told Hugo Savinovich on the Lucha Libre Online Facebook page<\/a> Monday that WWE medical personnel told Flair she was pregnant\u00a0\u2013 but it turned out she wasn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbout 15 days ago, two things happ<\/a>ened. When I asked for my release, it was on a Monday. The following day, I had things with the company and I got COVID and my girlfriend also tested positive,\u201d Andrade said in Spanish, according to a translation by Carlos Toro for Fightful<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Andrade then said, according to the translation, that roughly three weeks ago Flair received a call from the same WWE doctor who told Andrade last year he was suspended for violating the company\u2019s wellness policy.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a little scared, asking, \u2018What\u2019s happening, what\u2019s going on?\u2019\u201d Andrade said. \u201cThey told her that she was pregnant. She was confused because we went to a pharmacy. We bought pregnancy tests and everything went negative. <\/p>\n

\u201cHow does a doctor, supposedly one of the best, go and tell her that? It was the same doctor who said I tested positive. Was that a lie too? WWE didn\u2019t do anything about, no blood testing to make sure. So, it fell on us to go the next day and get tested to see if she was really pregnant. We did that on our own. Only then afterwards, WWE offered to help. But they took her out of storylines because \u2018she wasn\u2019t cleared because she was pregnant.\u2019 Four days after more testing, WWE didn\u2019t say anything. They pulled her out of storylines.\u201d<\/p>\n

Flair\u2019s \u201ccamp\u201d then released a statement to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT<\/a> in which they confirmed the pregnancy story, but said there was context \u201clost in translation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA few weeks ago, Charlotte received a call from WWE medical telling her that her HCG levels had come back high and she as being medically suspended for pregnancy,\u201d the statement said. \u201cThat day, she took several home tests that all came back negative. A few days later, blood work and ultrasound confirmed there was no pregnancy.\u201d<\/p>\n

That all happened before Flair tested positive for COVID-19, per Flair\u2019s camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis put a lot in context for her, mainly how small a woman\u2019s career window is,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cThe men are able to work well into their 50s while the women are seen as \u2018older\u2019 in their early 30s even. For an athlete in her prime, these years mean everything.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer issue was with the process and how the information was relayed as opposed to the information itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Flair remained off television during Monday\u2019s episode of \u201cMonday Night Raw.\u201d WrestleMania will be held on April 10 and 11 in Tampa.<\/p>\n

WWE did not respond to a request for comment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
