\nBronx, NY \u2013 <\/span> The late Big Pun was honored with his own street in the Bronx on March 22. But there was one person noticeably absent from the celebration \u2014 Fat Joe.<\/p>\n

The Terror Squad OG initially discovered Big Pun in the early \u201990s and recruited him for his 1995 album Jealous One\u2019s Envy,<\/em>\u00a0jumpstarting a legendary career that would lead to the platinum-selling, Grammy Award-nominated\u00a0Capital Punishment<\/em> album. Needless to say, the two rapp<\/a>ers shared a close, collaborative relationship and Joe was understandably devastated when Pun died in 200o.<\/p>\n

But over the years, Fat Joe and Big Pun\u2019s wife Liza have often bumped heads, which Joe says is the primary reason he didn\u2019t show up. On the day of the ceremony, the veteran artist shared his thoughts via Instagram Live and explained their issues prevented him for heading down to Big Pun Plaza.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you don\u2019t have good things to say about somebody, I prefer to not say it,\u201d he says in the clip. \u201cSo me, I could not go over there, because there were people over there I just ain\u2019t feeling. And I ain\u2019t never going to feel. So when everybody DMs me, or says little things, yo bro \u2014 I will never stand beside these people ever in life. In my life, all I have is my word. My word is my bond. I never broke my word for nobody. If I shook your hand and told you it\u2019s peace, then it\u2019s peace. If I have a problem with you, I let you know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although there have plenty of reconciliations in the rap community, especially when someone dies, Fat Joe was adamant he\u2019ll never make peace with Big Pun\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not standing beside nobody,\u201d he continued. \u201cTalking about \u2018let\u2019s do it for Pun.\u2019 No I\u2019m not. When you slander me and my word and make me look crazy for two decades in the hood. I can not stand next to you. My kids ain\u2019t standing next to you. We just ain\u2019t doing that. We\u2019re talking about the legacy of Big Pun, we\u2019re talking about uplifting him for 20 years \u2026 all we do is uplift Pun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe also claimed he\u2019s reached out to Pun\u2019s son Chris Rivers, who\u2019s busy trying to build a rap career of his own.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know I might get some of you people mad, but that\u2019s on you,\u201d he added. \u201cI invited his son, who raps, to come and do Big Pun\u2019s parts. He declines. I invited him when we big-upped Pun at Radio City Music Hall, where every rapper was there, but they declined. That\u2019s cool. I was the bigger guy, and often. I know he was a kid when Pun passed and he knows what\u2019s told to him. I respect that it\u2019s all good. Big we gotta salute the one and only Big Pun.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Big Pun\u2019s sister, Nicki \u201cSista Pun\u201d Rodriguez, wasn\u2019t buying Joe\u2019s excuse nor did she forgive any of her blood relatives who chose not to come.<\/p>\n

\u201cFuck you!\u201d she said in a YouTube<\/a> video when addressing them. \u201cFuck you! Fuck you and fuck you and yours. OK? Do me a favor. If ever ever in my presence \u2014 don\u2019t talk to me. Don\u2019t say hi to me. Don\u2019t even breathe next to me \u2019cause I\u2019m gonna smack the shit out of you \u2026 For you family members who were capable, able but chose not to come yet want to represent him yet want to use his name to get into clubs \u2026 fuck you.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then set her sights on those who aren\u2019t blood, including \u201cTwin\u201d also known as Fat Joe.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe presence of someone else or whatever is not an excuse,\u201d she said. \u201cMy sister-in-law and I have been going at it for 20 years. I don\u2019t need to put our business out there \u2026 we are on a different path right now. For a long time, we were at it with each other. But with all that, for example, at one point I couldn\u2019t be in the presence of my sister-in-law. The emotions was crazy, but I made myself that day come by myself \u2026 nothing was keeping me away.\u201d<\/p>\n
