These signals could be used to measure and monitor hearing quality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the future, it should even be possible for the hearing implant to adjust itself autonomously based on the recorded brain waves,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nieuws.kuleuven.be\/en\/content\/2021\/experimental-hearing-implant-succeeds-in-registering-brain-waves\">said<\/a> study\u00a0co-author Tom Francart.<\/p>\n<p><em>[Read:\u00a0How to use AI to better serve your customers]<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Instead of making sounds louder like a conventional hearing aid, cochlear\u00a0implants use electrical signals to directly stimulate the auditory nerve.<\/p>\n<p>The devices are typically adjusted by an audiologist based on user feedback, a time-consuming\u00a0process that can be challenging for children and people with communication impairments.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the fittings only h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en during irregular\u00a0sessions at a clinic. This means the settings can\u2019t account for variable factors that affect the user\u2019s hearing, such as different listening environments and physiological changes.<\/p>\n<p>One solution is adjusting the implant via brainwaves. However, this typically requires expensive and cumbersome equipment that\u2019s placed around the head.<\/p>\n<p>A cochlear implant that records neural signals on its own could provide a more useful alternative. Francart said the approach has several advantages:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>Firstly, we get an objective measurement that does not depend on the user\u2019s input. In addition, you could measure a person\u2019s hearing in everyday life and monitor it better. So, in the long run, the user would no longer have to undergo testing at the hospital. An audiologist could consult the data remotely and adjust the implant where necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The researchers\u00a0now want\u00a0manufacturers\u00a0to use the study findings to\u00a0further develop smart hearing devices.<\/p>\n<p><em>Greetings Humanoids!
