The King of Pop\u2019s legacy continues, not just through his art but also through his children.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Paris Jackson app<\/a>eared on Naomi Campbell\u2019s YouTube series\u00a0\u201cNo Filter\u201d<\/a> Tuesday and opened up about her childhood and how famous father Michael instilled a strong work ethic and eclectic music taste in his kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad was really good about making sure we were cultured, making sure we were educated, and not just showing us like the glitz and glam, like hotel hopping, five-star places,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old said she was conceived in Paris and born in LA but remembers growing up \u201ckind of everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was also like, we saw everything. We saw third-world countries. We saw every part of the spectrum,\u201d Jackson said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The model-singer was 11 years old when her father died, in June 2009, but she acknowledges that his influence in her life continues to this day.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrowing up, it was about earning stuff. If we wanted five toys from\u00a0FAO Schwarz\u00a0or\u00a0Toys R Us, we had to read five books,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s earning it, not just being entitled to certain things or thinking, \u2018Oh, I got this.\u2019 It\u2019s like working for it, working hard for it \u2014 it\u2019s, it\u2019s something else entirely. It\u2019s an accomplishment.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Campbell suggested that Paris was too famous to show up for model castings, she insisted that she is \u201ca full believer that I should earn everything.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI need to \u2026 I go to auditions, I work hard, I study scripts, I do my thing,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Paris has certainly been doing her thing. Earlier this month, she starred in Stella McCartney\u2019s ad campaign<\/a> for her new collection, featuring eco-conscious\u00a0vegan-leather pieces. She also released her debut album, \u201cWilted,\u201d in November.<\/p>\n

Following her family into the music industry, Paris credits her father\u2019s music and his wide range of musical interests with guiding her own taste and sound.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe loved classical music and jazz. And hip-hop and R&B, and obviously the Motown stuff,\u201d she said. \u201cBut also like radio\u2019s Top 40, and he loved rock music, soft rock, The Beatles. So we grew up around all of that, and I feel like all of that somehow influences my stuff, and if you\u00a0listen to my album,\u00a0even there\u2019s some movie soundtrack-like influences as well, like\u00a0Hans Zimmer\u00a0and\u00a0Danny Elfman, as well as like rock bands like\u00a0Radiohead and\u00a0Manchester Orchestra.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paris\u2019 older brother Prince also recently gave a rare interview<\/a> for \u201cThe Mix\u201d about his father and upbringing, giving a look into Michael Jackson\u2019s parenting style along with bits of wisdom from his dad that are \u201cclose to my heart\u201d and \u201capplicable at all times.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old shared that \u201cthe one that is my guiding principle is that you never stop learning.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI graduated, and that doesn\u2019t mean that I stopped learning,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd my father also would say something along the lines of, \u2018The minute that you stop learning is the minute that you\u2019re going to start dying.’\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
