\u201cIt\u2019s not a plan that tinkers around the edges,\u201d President Joe Biden said Wednesday in Pittsburgh of his $2 trillion \u201cAmerican Jobs Plan.\u201d No freaking kidding: It\u2019s half of his master plan to utterly remake the nation in the name of recovery from the pandemic.<\/p>\n

America is reopening thanks to vaccines developed in record time, and the economy is all set to return to the pre-COVID boom. Rather than get government to get out of the way as everyone gets back to work, Biden aims to spend unprecedented sacks of cash to grow the government and let Democratic interest groups gorge.<\/p>\n

Step Two, his \u201cAmerican Families Plan,\u201d drops in a few weeks with another<\/em> $2 trillion in spending. This comes on top of his $1.9 trillion so-called \u201cCOVID relief\u201d package \u2014 and<\/em> the $4 trillion Congress OK\u2019d last year, a quarter of it still unspent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the moment to reimagine and rebuild a new economy,\u201d the White House says. Why, other than the fact that Democrats think they can get away with it?<\/p>\n

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said in February \u2014\u00a0before Biden\u2019s first big bill passed \u2014\u00a0that the economy will reach its previous peak<\/a> by mid-year, no new federal cash baths needed.<\/p>\n

But then, Biden\u2019s proposal isn\u2019t about letting Americans get back to building their own lives. It\u2019s not even actually an American Jobs Plan, it\u2019s a con job to sell America on central planning.<\/p>\n

As for the infrastructure that\u2019s supposedly at the plan\u2019s center: Even the White House doesn\u2019t pretend that more than a third of the money would go for roads, bridges and so on, and it could be as little as 5 percent.<\/p>\n

The biggest single part of this is actually $400 billion for more and higher-paid home-care workers. Why? Well, Biden says such workers, mostly women of color, have been \u201cunseen, underpaid and undervalued.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, the White House boasts that this plan uniquely \u201cprioritizes addressing long-standing and persistent racial injustice.\u201d What, that\u2019s what the last election was about?<\/p>\n

By the way, what does it even mean<\/em> to target \u201c40 percent of the benefits of climate and clean infrastructure investments to disadvantaged communities\u201d? App<\/a>arently, per the White House, it involves making the imagined \u201cnew jobs created in clean energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure\u201d somehow \u201caccessible to women and people of color.\u201d Quotas, anyone?<\/p>\n

Biden also aims to revive dying private-sector unions, with items like $10 billion for a \u201cCivilian Climate Corps\u201d with \u201cgood-paying union jobs,\u201d with workers \u201cadvancing environmental justice\u201d \u2014\u00a0whatever that means.<\/p>\n

This may be the dream of a certain House member from The Bronx, but it\u2019s failed before: The National Bureau of Economic Research found that only 15 positions were created for every $1 million spent on \u201cgreen jobs\u201d in the Obama 2009 stimulus.<\/p>\n

Biden wants $174 billion in bribes\/subsidies to get Americans to buy electric vehicles. That amounts to $174 billion in corporate welfare. (Elon Musk says, \u201cThanks.\u201d)<\/p>\n

Biden pretends only those at the top were doing well pre-pandemic, \u201cbut everyone else was falling behind.\u201d No: Employment rates for blacks, Latinos and other minorities were at record levels, with major pay gains.<\/p>\n

And the tax hikes he says will (mostly) pay for his plan will override the Trump policies that produced that working-class boom.<\/p>\n

The nation will pay a huge price if Biden somehow gets away with this turkey.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
