“#’Head Of the Class’ Reboot Gets Series<\/a> Order at HBO Max<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

The reboot of \u201980s sitcom Head Of the Class<\/em> is going straight to on HBO Max.<\/p>\n

Starring One Day at a Time<\/a><\/em>actress Isabella Gomez, the show is being executive produced by Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso<\/em>, Scrubs<\/em>, Spin City<\/em>, Cougar Town<\/em>), with American Vandal<\/em> writers Amy Pocha and Seth Cohen.<\/p>\n

Like the original, the reboot will be a multi-camera show. Ten 30-minute episodes have been ordered, according to multiple reports<\/a>. Shooting is scheduled to start this summer in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Gomez will play teacher Alicia Adams, who wants her over-achieving high school students to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.<\/p>\n

The show also stars Jorge Diaz (The Long Road Home<\/em>), Jolie Hoang Rapp<\/a>aport (Watchmen<\/em>), Dior Goodjohn (Glee<\/em>), Gavin Lewis (Little Fires Everywhere<\/em>), Brandon Severs (Diary of a Future President<\/em>), Katie Beth Hall (Better Call Saul<\/em>) and newcomer Adrian Matthew Escalona. Cougar Town\u2019s Christa Miller guest stars.<\/p>\n

Head of the Class <\/em>first ran on ABC from 1986-1991 and starred Howard Hesseman for the first four seasons, and Billy Connolly for the fifth.<\/p>\n

HBO first revealed its plans for the show last year when it ordered a pilot directed by Phill Lewis (Mike & Molly<\/em>, One Day at a Time<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Gomez\u2019s other credits include Big Hero 6: The Series, Modern Family, <\/em>and Matador.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
