Border Patrol agents \u200bin Texas \u200bdisrupted a number of smuggling attempts and detained scores of immigrants\u200b this week\u200b \u200bafter discovering\u00a0stash houses and tractor-trailers smuggling people into the United States.<\/p>\n

Officers in the Rio Grande Valley district found eight immigrants in a jack-knifed tractor-trailer east of Victoria, Texas, on Wednesday after being alerted to it by Wharton County sheriff deputies, according to a Customs and Border Protection release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Two of the immigrants injured in the crash were taken to a local hospital.\u200b<\/p>\n

The agents determined the immigrants in the truck\u2019s cargo area illegally crossed the border and they are now being held at the Corpus Christi Border Patrol Station.\u200b<\/p>\n

In another incident, Border Patrol agents stopped a tractor-trailer at the Javier Vega Jr. checkpoint, asked the driver for his citizenship information and sent the truck to a secondary inspection area after K9s \u200balerted them\u00a0to something \u200bsuspicious i\u200bn its cargo hold.<\/p>\n

A search uncovered 52 illegal immigrants hiding inside.<\/p>\n

The driver was arrested and the 52 illegal immigrants were taken into custody.<\/p>\n

Border Patrol agents also busted 29 illegal immigrants after finding them hiding in two stash houses, according to a CBP release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Officers found a group of men near Sullivan City, Texas, being loaded into a vehicle.<\/p>\n

The 15 men fled into the nearby brush as the agents approached.<\/p>\n

They were arrested along with the driver and taken to the McCallen border station to be processed.<\/p>\n

Agents also found 14 men inside a suspected stash house near Roma, Texas, on Monday.<\/p>\n
