\nAn\u00a0Emmy<\/strong>-winning set designer has been found dead in her home. She was 66 years old.<\/p>\n

Evelyn Sakash<\/strong> had been missing since last September, with friends and family unsure of her whereabouts for the last six months. On Tuesday afternoon, though, workers of a cleaning company hired by Sakash\u2019s sister Ellen Brown<\/strong> unexpectedly found the woman\u2019s body \u201cunder a pile of debris\u201d in the kitchen of her home in Queens, New York.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0People<\/em>, the\u00a0NYPD<\/strong> does not suspect foul play or criminality in the case of Sakash\u2019s passing. Medical examiners are working to determine a cause of death.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0GoFundMe<\/strong> <\/a>had previously been set up in December by one of her friends, Madeline O\u2019Connell Hartling<\/strong>, to raise funds in order to find Evelyn \u2014 back when loved ones believed her to be missing.<\/p>\n

In an update to the fundraising page this week, O\u2019Connell Hartling shared the tragic news<\/a> about her \u201ckind, loving, and generous friend.\u201d The mourning woman wrote on Wednesday (below):<\/p>\n

\u201cDearest loved ones of Evelyn. Our beautiful sister Evelyn was found deceased in her home yesterday, Tuesday March 30th. At this time, a cause of death has not been determined. Evelyn\u2019s sister Ellen Brown has retained the cleaning company that found her and must now plan Evelyn\u2019s funeral as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So, so tragic\u2026 And in speaking about her sister\u2019s death, Brown told the New York Daily News\u00a0<\/em>(below):<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is just devastating. She had a full life. She was so extraordinarily talented. She was a brilliant mind \u2026 I don\u2019t want my sister to be remembered like that, like the way she was found. This was clearly in effect for a long time. She sometimes kept people at bay. The headline says \u2018Queens hoarder,\u2019 but that\u2019s not who she is. Every one of her friends would say she was the first person to step up if someone needed help. She was so generous with people. I want all of that to be the final testament, and not that she was found in a bad condition.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Wow. Very powerful and emotional.<\/p>\n

In addition to app<\/a>arently being a very good friend, Sakash was also a renowned set designer and production decorator. She worked on shows such as Orange Is The New Black<\/em> and\u00a0Law & Order: Criminal Intent<\/em> during her 30-year career. In 2003, she won a\u00a0Daytime Creative Arts Emmy<\/strong> for outstanding achievement in art direction, set decoration, and scenic design for her work on\u00a0Between The Lions<\/em>. She was nominated once again, but didn\u2019t win, in 2004.<\/p>\n

Her long list of set design credits also includes movies<\/a> like\u00a0Still Alice<\/em>,\u00a0Mermaids<\/em>,\u00a0Taxi<\/em>, and\u00a0Made in America<\/em>. Impressive\u2026<\/p>\n
