And the latter, bringing back the OG competitors from years (decades!) past, is, for the most part, exactly what it needs to be.<\/p>\n<p>The April 1 premiere re-introduces viewers to 22 of the franchise\u2019s most iconic players, competing for $500,000, and it\u2019s business as usual: a quick rundown of the season, a daily challenge, deliberation, and an elimination, with drama, of course, at every turn. But it wasn\u2019t all perfect. Below, we take a look at what worked and what didn\u2019t in the first episode of the limited series.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Worked_The_Formats_the_Same\"><\/span>Worked: The Format\u2019s the Same<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Fortunately, the producers haven\u2019t attempted to shake things up for this special season just because they\u2019ve brought in heavy hitters. The format has not changed, as broken down above, and the goal is still the same: do whatever it takes to take home the grand prize. Even better, it\u2019s an individual <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>, so even though they may have to work in teams at some points, the players will still turn on each other at a moment\u2019s notice.<\/p>\n<p>Just look at what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens in the premiere, as the losing team\u2019s captain, Laterrian Wallace (three Challenges), must go into elimination and the house agrees to nominate Ace Amerson (four Challenges) to go against him at the former\u2019s request. For example, when Jisela Delgado (three Challenges) can use the Life Saver she earned by being the female captain of the winning team during the daily challenge (as it\u2019s a men\u2019s elimination) and chooses not to due to her history with Ace, we see him calling her \u201cdead weight\u201d back in <em>The Gauntlet 2<\/em> (2005).<\/p>\n<p>Plus, it\u2019s a great way to remind viewers of these players\u2019 pasts on the show since it has been quite a while for some of them.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Didnt_Work_The_First_Daily_Challenge\"><\/span>Didn\u2019t Work: The First Daily Challenge<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Host TJ Lavin introduces the players to their first daily challenge, \u201cDeep Blue Dive,\u201d in which they must solve math equations and swim out to fetch puzzle pieces (with different colors for two teams) in the water. We got the medics out here, we got the walkers out, we got the wheelchairs out. The best part? And while Ace does try his hardest to hold on \u2014 Laterrian ends up lifting him up and slamming him to the ground over and over \u2014 he\u2019s eliminated in two rounds. It\u2019s a violent, dirty, insane elimination and the <em>best<\/em> way to welcome everyone to <em>The Challenge: All Stars<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Worked_The_Profanity\"><\/span>Worked: The Profanity<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Understandably, because <em>The Challenge<\/em> usually airs on MTV, any profanity must be bleeped out. Because <em>All Stars<\/em> is streaming on Paramount+, that\u2019s not the case and it\u2019s a huge plus.
