The update enables Morgan Stanley Institutional Fund, Inc. to add Bitcoin to several portfolios via Grayscale Bitcoin Trust and cash-settled futures. <\/p>\n<p>The filing explains:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTo the extent a Fund invests in bitcoin futures or GBTC, it will do so through a wholly-owned subsidiary, which is organized as an exempted company under the laws of the Cayman Islands [&#8230;] A Fund may at times have no exposure to bitcoin.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The portfolios that could gain exposure to BTC are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advantage Portfolio <\/li>\n<li>Asia Opportunity Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Counterpoint Global Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Developing Opportunity Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Global Advantage Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Global Permanence Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Global Opportunity Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Growth Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Inception Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>International Advantage Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>International Opportunity Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Permanence Portfolio (each, a &#8220;Portfolio&#8221;)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rumblings of an institutional Bitcoin offering at Morgan Stanley have been gaining traction over the past few weeks after an \u201cinternal memo\u201d revealed the bank\u2019s intent to offer crypto exposure to wealthy clients.
