The Staircase<\/i> is coming to HBO Max. The streaming service has ordered a new drama series which is an adaptation of the true-crime docu-series of the same name. It\u2019s an exploration of the life of novelist Michael Peterson, his family, and the suspicious 2001 death of his wife at their home. Colin Firth will play Peterson in the eight-episode series.<\/p>\n

HBO Max revealed more about the upcoming drama in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cHBO Max has ordered THE STAIRCASE<\/i>, an eight-episode limited series starring Academy and BAFTA Award-Winner\u00ae Colin Firth as American novelist Michael Peterson. The Max Original is a co-production between HBO Max and Annapurna Television.<\/p>\n

Antonio Campos will direct 6 of the 8 episodes.<\/p>\n

Adapting the true crime docuseries \u201cThe Staircase\u201d and various books and reports on the case, THE STAIRCASE<\/i> is an exploration of the life of Michael Peterson, his sprawling North Carolina family, and the suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen Peterson.<\/p>\n

Firth is represented by Independent Talent (UK) and CAA (US). Campos is represented by WME, Management 360 and Nelson Davis. Cohn is represented by Management 360 and CAA.<\/p>\n
