Part one of Mistwalker-developed diorama adventure RPG Fantasian<\/em> is now available for Apple Arcade<\/a> (Mac, iOS, and tvOS) with English and Japanese language support. <\/span><\/p>\n
As previously announced, Fantasian<\/em> will be released in two parts. The first part is about 20 to 30 hours long. The second part, due out in the latter half of 2021, will also run for about 20 to 30 hours.<\/p>\n

Story<\/strong><\/p>\n
The tale begins in a realm governed by machines. Within this multi-dimensional universe, the balance of \u201cChaos and Order\u201d becomes a key factor in the struggle for these realms and the machinations of the gods who wish to control them. Players will assume the role of protagonist, Leo, who awakens from a massive explosion only to find himself lost in a strange land with only one memory left to him. As players set out on a journey to reclaim Leo\u2019s memories, they will unravel the mysteries of the bizarre mechanical infection slowly engulfing all that is known to mankind. The captivating story is written by Sakaguchi and is complimented by a sweeping soundtrack by celebrated Final Fantasy<\/em> composer, Nobuo Uematsu.<\/p>\n

New Battle Mechanics<\/strong> \u2013 Tapping into his experience from the Final Fantasy<\/em> franchise, Sakaguchi brings to Fantasian<\/em> several quality of life improvements to the classic Japanese RPG genre, such as the \u201cDimengeon Battle\u201d mechanic, which allows players to send previously encountered enemies into a separate dimensional dungeon to streamline combat and maximize uninterrupted exploration of the beautiful locations.<\/li>\n
Hand-Crafted Environments<\/strong> \u2013 Each of the 150-plus dioramas has been crafted by the masters of the Japanese \u201cTokusatsu\u201d or special effects industry. Creating Fantasian<\/em>\u2019s real-life miniature sets are veterans who have worked on projects like the Godzilla<\/em> films, Attack on Titan<\/em>, and Ultraman<\/em>. Fantasian<\/em> serves as a vehicle to bring these amazing works of art into the digital space via Apple Arcade.<\/li>\n
Legendary Soundtrack<\/strong> \u2013 Celebrated composer Nobuo Uematsu, known for his work on the Final Fantasy<\/em> series<\/a> and games such as Lost Odyssey<\/em> and Blue Dragon<\/em>, created a soundtrack to compliment the memorable and magical world of Fantasian<\/em> from catchy battle tunes to heart-pumping dungeon pieces, and moving character themes.<\/li>\n
Novel Storytelling<\/strong> \u2013 To tell an epic story, a \u2018novel\u2019 approach was used in the form of a \u201cMemory\u201d system where players encounter and collect various memories, journal entries, and notes presented as miniature in-game novels to flesh out the story, realms, and characters of Fantasian<\/em>.
