In our example, the drive is named \u201cMac Transfer,\u201d but it could be named anything. This window gives you an estimate of how long it will take to finish the copy process.<\/p>\n<p>If you need to cancel the copy operation before it completes, click the tiny \u201cX\u201d in a circle. Here are a few other methods that you might want to try.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Copy and Paste:<\/strong> Select a file, folder, or group of files, and then right-click. In the menu that pops up, select \u201cCopy.\u201d Then navigate to the USB drive in Finder, right-click in an open area and select \u201cPaste Item.\u201d The items will copy to the drive. You can also use the \u201cCopy\u201d and \u201cPaste\u201d commands in Finder\u2019s Edit menu to do this instead of right-clicking.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drag to Desktop Shortcut:<\/strong> It\u2019s disabled by default, but you can make your USB flash drive visible on your Desktop as an icon and drag files onto it. To see the icon there, focus on Finder, then select File &gt; Preferences in the menu bar. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a> tab, place a check mark beside \u201cExternal disks\u201d in the \u201cShow these items on the desktop\u201d area. Whatever you drag onto the drive icon will be copied there automatically.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drag to Dock:<\/strong> If you\u2019d like, you can also drag the icon of a USB flash drive from your desktop or a Finder window into the shortcuts area of your dock. If you want to copy files to it, you can drag them directly to the USB drive\u2019s icon in your dock.
