He called these pieces Oscillons or Electrical Compositions. They were Lissajous Figures of a complex type. A 1953 show of his work in Cherokee, Iowa designated them electronic abstractions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7174\" src=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Laposky-Oscillon-45.jpg\" alt=\"Laposky Oscillon 45\" width=\"426\" height=\"512\" \/><\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ben Laposky, <\/span><b>Oscillon 45,<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1952<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Laposky inspired other digital artists, producing the mediums first major show in 1965, in Stuttgart, headlined by <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Frieder_Nake\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Frieder Nake<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (b. 1938) and the first museum show, <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cybernetic_Serendipity\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cybernetic Serendipity<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, at <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ica.art\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Londons Institute of Contemporary Arts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> three years later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DAs emphasis on geometric abstraction piggy-backed on the worlds excitement for Pollock and the swarm of Abstract Expressionists roiling the cultural waters of that day. n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ew market fluidity <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is being leveraged, but no fresh aesthetic concept<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> shaping the action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As of this writing, the overwhelming majority of images moving into NFT collections for slag-heaps of Ethereum are more akin to 1950s
