What\u2019s the deal with 2020?<\/p>\n

Legendary funnyman Jerry Seinfeld broke his pandemic-year hiatus from standup in New York City on Friday night, delighting fans with an energetic set at the re-opening of Gotham Comedy Club in Chelsea.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like getting electrocuted in a good way \u2013 in a good way,\u201d a still-stoked Seinfeld told reporters afterward.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe audience\u00a0was great, and I was actually feeling like: can I still do this? You wonder if you remember. It\u2019s like not playing tennis for a year.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so, as soon as I get up, the audience exploded and I just felt so at home,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I love this club \u2013 I love performing in New York. I didn\u2019t want to get emotional but I\u2019m really excited to be helping to bring it back,\u201d said Seinfeld, who wore his signature blazer and Mets hat.<\/p>\n

Seinfeld said he is \u201cthrilled and excited\u201d about the Amazin\u2019s this year, as he walked out to his Mercedes G Wagon on West 23rd Street.<\/p>\n

And when asked by The Post if he told any \u201cwhat\u2019s the deal with\u201d jokes to the Chelsea audience, Seinfeld laughed and said, \u201cNo, I wish I had some.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 66-year-old Long Island native said being back at the club was a dose of much needed medicine.<\/p>\n

Audience members couldn\u2019t agree more.<\/p>\n

A pair of New York newlyweds who gave their names as Leyla and Vlad said they appreciated Seinfeld\u2019s jokes Friday night about marriage \u2014 and about how most of the communication, for better or for worse, is non-verbal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like life was back to normal,\u201d Leyla said of the club reopening. \u201cComedy is back.\u201d <\/p>\n

Seinfeld has championed the city throughout the past year, even as some fled Gotham for greener pastures.<\/p>\n
