It\u2019s bold, yes, and we can get it done,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Biden last week described infrastructure as his presidency\u2019s \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spot.im\/s\/1qUc1JVEvjZEi3dP6JJIlquO9LV\" class=\"icon none\">next major initiative<\/a>.\u201d The rollout for his proposal comes three weeks after he signed a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill into law.<\/p>\n<p>The president\u2019s infrastructure plan will unleash spending over eight years, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/03\/31\/fact-sheet-the-american-jobs-plan\/\" class=\"icon none\">White House said in a \u201cfact sheet\u201d on Wednesday<\/a> ahead of his speech.<\/p>\n<p>The White House said proposed tax changes will \u201craise over $2 trillion over the next 15 years and more than pay for the mostly one-time investments in the American Jobs Plan and then reduce deficits on a permanent basis.\u201d The changes include raising the corporate tax rate to 28% from 21%, hiking the global minimum tax on U.S. multinational companies, establishing what\u2019s called a 15% minimum tax on book income, eliminating tax preferences for fossil fuels and ramping up enforcement against corporations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are my ideas on how to pay for this plan,\u201d Biden said during his speech, as he touched on the tax hikes. \u201cIf  others have additional ideas, let them come forward. I\u2019m open to other ideas, so long as they do not impose any tax increase on people making less than $400,000.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden also promised to \u201cbring Republicans into the Oval Office\u201d and \u201clisten to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The $621 billion in transportation-related spending includes $115 billion to \u201cmodernize the bridges, highways, roads, and main streets that are in most critical need of repair,\u201d $20 billion to improve road safety for all users, $85 billion to boost existing public transit and help agencies expand their systems, $80 billion to support Amtrak and other rail projects, $174 billion to help the U.S. electric-vehicles industry, $25 billion to aid airports, $20 billion for a new program to reconnect neighborhoods cut off\u00a0by past infrastructure projects, and $17 billion to boost inland waterways, ports and ferries.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Related:<\/strong> Biden infrastructure plan includes pitch for electric vehicle rebates \u2014 Tesla, GM, Nikola shares gain<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also read:<\/strong> Clean-energy ETFs surge as infrastructure plan rolls out<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s plan would provide $400 billion for \u201cthe infrastructure of care in our country,\u201d targeting the facilities or systems that care for the aging and those with disabilities, according to the White House. <\/p>\n<p>It also calls for $213 billion to \u201cbuild, preserve, and retrofit more than 2 million homes and commercial buildings to address the affordable housing crisis,\u201d $100 billion for power infrastructure, $100 billion for workforce-development programs and 100 billion to upgrade and build public schools.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there is $180 billion for public investments in research and development to advance U.S. leadership in critical areas such as computing and climate <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>, $300 billion\u00a0to \u201cretool and revitalize American manufacturers and small businesses,\u201d $25 billion to help upgrade child-care facilities and increase the supply of child care and $18 billion for the modernization of Veterans Affairs hospitals and clinics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more:<\/strong> Here\u2019s what\u2019s in the White House infrastructure spending and corporate tax hike plan<\/p>\n<p><strong>And see:<\/strong> These infrastructure stocks could rise up to 41% in a year on Biden\u2019s massive spending plan, analysts say<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough we think there is a reasonable chance that Congress will pass some form of the Biden plan, it will be tougher to pass this plan than it was to pass the COVID-relief bill,\u201d said Brian Gardner, chief Washington policy strategist at Stifel, in a note Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome divisions are already <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arent among Democrats,\u201d Gardner added. \u201cFor example, some northeast Democrats have threatened to oppose an infrastructure bill if the state and local tax (SALT) deduction is not restored, and progressives are upset that this proposal did not include more on climate change. Republican lawmakers criticized Biden\u2019s proposal on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, the latest liberal wish-list the White House has decided to label \u2018infrastructure\u2019 is a major missed opportunity by this Administration\u201d said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the Kentucky Republican, in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis proposal appears to use \u2018infrastructure\u2019 as a Trojan horse for the largest set of tax hikes in a generation.
