Ukraine\u2019s armed forces announced plans to conduct joint training drills with its NATO allies Saturday, as worry mounts over Russian troop movements on the smaller nation\u2019s border.<\/p>\n

More than 1,000 troops from at least five NATO member states will participate in the training later this year, The Hill reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The exercises, described on the Facebook page<\/a> of the General<\/a> Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will aim to support Ukraine\u2019s \u201cterritorial integrity\u201d in the face of \u201caggression from one of the hostile neighbor countries\u201d \u2014 presumably Russia.<\/p>\n

The announcement came less than a day after President Biden, in his first official phone call with President Volodymyr Zelensky, pledged his \u201cunwavering support\u201d<\/a> to Ukraine \u2014 and as US defense officials voice increasing concern over an app<\/a>arent buildup of Russian military might in Crimea.<\/p>\n
