While \u201cthe left may control the media<\/a> narrative, it\u2019s not fooling Xi Jinping or Vladmir Putin into thinking President Joe Biden is strong,\u201d snarks The Federalist\u2019s Mollie Hemingway<\/a>: Putin \u201cchallenged Biden to a debate about US history,\u201d and Xi \u201chad his people yell at US diplomats in their first meeting with the new administration.\u201d Russia and China have both \u201cused the Democratic Party\u2019s own talking points about how corrupt, racist, evil and irredeemably sinister the United States is.\u201d Instead of publicizing \u201chatred of this fine country\u201d for adversaries to exploit, \u201cBiden\u2019s team should actually fight to secure America\u2019s interests, to disassociate the US economy from China\u2019s, to recover critical supply chains, build back the military and US economy and to provide counterweights to China in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Iconoclast: The Other Evil<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the horrific Midtown assault on an Asian-American woman and other recent anti-Asian hate crimes, Bari Weiss warns at her Common Sense site<\/a> of \u201canother evil\u201d: \u201clying about \u2014 or purposefully misdiagnosing \u2014 the problem to fit The Narrative.\u201d The media rush to paint these crimes as \u201cinstances of white supremacy,\u201d when no recent high-profile attacker has been a white supremacist, and many aren\u2019t even white. \u201cThe political class are contorting themselves to find a way to blame white supremacy or the legacy of Trumpism. Why? Because when the perpetrator is a neo-Nazi it is a moral gimme.\u201d When he\u2019s \u201cfrom a group that\u2019s also a target of hate crimes condemnation becomes much more difficult.\u201d In reality, \u201cThe value of a victim should not be dependent on the identity of their victimizer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pandemic journal: When Leaders Fearmonger<\/strong><\/p>\n

At a recent press conference, CDC boss Rochelle Walensky warned of \u201cimpending doom,\u201d following \u201csmall bumps\u201d in COVID cases, notes Isaac Schorr at National Review<\/a>, even as the Associated Press claims President Biden\u2019s coronavirus briefings are \u201cbased more on facts than flourish.\u201d The truth? The nation is \u201chardly\u201d headed \u201cfor dire straits,\u201d with the virus becoming less dangerous each day as more Americans are vaccinated. And \u201cthere was nothing \u2018wonky\u2019\u200a\u201d about Walensky admitting feelings of \u201cimpending doom.\u201d Yet the media treat \u201cany optimism or restriction-lifting as careless and any pessimism as responsible and \u2018wonky.\u2019\u200a\u201d In December, Schorr urged \u201cthe leadership class\u201d not to \u201cscare Americans into complying with ill-considered regulations.\u201d Alas, neither Team Biden nor the press \u201cheeded my advice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conservative: Delta Should Stick to Flying<\/strong><\/p>\n

When Atlanta-based Delta Airlines took stands against Georgia\u2019s new voting law, it drew flak \u201cfrom all sides\u201d \u2014 which, writes the Washington Examiner\u2019s Byron York<\/a>, should serve as \u201ca lesson for CEOs who pander to political activists.\u201d Delta initially praised \u201cimprovements in the bill,\u201d but that prompted \u201cugly blowback from the left\u201d: #BoycottDelta soon showed up on Twitter, causing Delta CEO Ed Bastian to \u201ctremble in fear\u201d and release a new statement, this time blasting the bill as \u201cunacceptable.\u201d Yet that, in turn, drew heat from Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who noted that Delta itself had been engaged in the legislative process and voiced no objections. Maybe \u201ccorporations like Delta should stay out of hot political controversies\u201d and \u201cjust stick to flying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Libertarian: CDC\u2019s Illegal Eviction Ban<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention \u201ckeeps extending its illegal eviction ban,\u201d laments Reason\u2019s Christian Britschgi<\/a>. Team Trump imposed it in September, and now a third renewal, based on claims it \u201cremains necessary in spite of falling deaths and the rollout of vaccines,\u201d extends it through June 30. The ban \u201cprevents tenants earning up to $99,000 ($198,000 for joint filers) from being evicted for non-payment of rent\u201d if they declare \u201cthey\u2019ve lost income or had unexpected medical bills.\u201d Three federal district courts ruled it illegal, yet it\u2019s still in effect in most of the country. Landlords call it \u201cunsustainable\u201d \u2014 and the \u201capp<\/a>roval of $46.55 billion in rental assistance during the pandemic\u201d should \u201clessen the risk of eviction for renters behind on their bills.\u201d<\/p>\n
