So Hunter Biden admits that the laptop The Post reported on \u201ccertainly\u201d could be his; he just doesn\u2019t remember dropping it off for repair. The question now is whether the liberal media will admit that it\u2019s real, examine its contents or take a look at their practices.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They could start by no longer booking or interviewing John Brennan, former director of the CIA and tinfoil-hat-wearing crank. Brennan was one of 50 former intelligence officials, mostly under Democratic presidents, who signed a letter saying that the Hunter story \u201chas all the classic earmarks of Russian disinformation.\u201d Of course, they had no proof of this and didn\u2019t bother to even examine the contents, but crying, \u201cRussia!\u201d is a good way to dupe the media these days. We single out Brennan because no one has cried wolf more in the past five years, as he\u2019s spun conspiracy theories that would make QAnon blush. Yet he\u2019s still trotted out on CNN no matter how many times he\u2019s wrong.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While we\u2019re at it, will Politico (and other outlets) correct their coverage of this letter? \u201cHunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say,\u201d Politico\u2019s headline says, which isn\u2019t even what the letter said. It could be disinformation, the officials wrote \u2014 and now we know it isn\u2019t.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NPR famously told its listeners, \u201cWe don\u2019t waste time on stories that aren\u2019t stories.\u201d How inconvenient for them that this continues to be a story. Of course, NPR isn\u2019t shamed \u2014 just last week, it had to correct a Hunter Biden book review when the author claimed, falsely, that US intelligence said the laptop story was \u201cdiscredited.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Or how about the cottage industry of \u201cfact checkers?\u201d Glenn Kessler of The Washington Post waved away our reporting with \u201cHunter Biden\u2019s alleged laptop,\u201d and later tweeted dismissively about \u201cthe laptop stuff.\u201d Any new \u201cfact checks\u201d on the way?\u00a0<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t think there will be. The election safely in the rearview mirror, Twitter now says banning The Post\u2019s account for two weeks was \u201ca total mistake.\u201d But the rest of the media still has no interest in asking any probing questions of Hunter Biden, even as he promotes a self-serving memoir.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They wanted Joe Biden elected, and they don\u2019t want to hurt him now.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
