\n NASCAR\u2019s only black driver Bubba Wallace on Monday denounced \u201cHATE from the POTUS\u201d after President Trump suggested that Wallace apologize for saying he was the victim of a hate crime.<\/p>\n

Wallace\u2019s teammates this year reported an app<\/a>arent noose in his garage stall that the FBI later determined was not a hate crime and had been in place there since October 2019. He was not the source of the original claim.<\/p>\n

Wallace\u2019s response to Trump came in a tweeted statement that he addressed to \u201cthe next generation and little ones following my foot steps.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the haters are doing is elevating your voice and platform to much greater heights,\u201d Wallace wrote, calling for people to \u201calways deal with the hate being thrown at you with LOVE!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEven when it\u2019s HATE from the POTUS.. Love wins,\u201d Wallace wrote.<\/p>\n

In a Monday morning tweet, Trump wrote: \u201cHas <\/span>@BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX? That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At a Monday afternoon press conference, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said she spoke to Trump and that he clarified he wasn\u2019t taking a position on the display of Confederate flags at races \u2014 which NASCAR has banned \u2014 and that he was expressing a general<\/a>ized concern about a rush to judgment in cases of alleged hate crimes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s important that we point out the fact that there was no hate crime. The FBI concluded that. President Trump was merely saying that Mr. Wallace should agree with that consensus,\u201d McEnany said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
