“#After the Award Show Love, Will There Be a Movie?<\/strong>”

Schitt\u2019s Creek<\/em><\/a> finally got the recognition it deserved after<\/em> it ended, so wouldn\u2019t it make sense to bring it back for more?<\/p>\n

The Canadian comedy, which premiered in 2015 and won over U.S. fans on Pop TV up until its series<\/a> finale on April 7, 2020, has walked away with numerous awards at the latest of the big ceremonies honoring TV and its performances. In fact, before Schitt\u2019s Creek<\/em> took home two SAG Awards<\/a> (Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for Catherine O\u2019Hara<\/a>) on April 4, Sarah Levy<\/a> (who played town resident and caf\u00e9 owner Twyla) joined other cast members in expressing interest for a movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI keep hearing about a movie!\u201d Levy said while app<\/a>earing on People, EW & TNT\u2019s pre-show. \u201cThis remains to be seen, but I\u2019m here for it if that\u2019s the case.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her brother Dan Levy<\/a>, who co-created Schitt\u2019s Creek<\/em> with their father Eugene Levy<\/a>, didn\u2019t rule out the possibility after they swept the comedy categories at the 2020 Emmys<\/a>. \u201cIf there is an idea that ever pops into my head worthy of these wonderful people, it has to be really freakin\u2019 good at this point, because this is a really nice way of saying goodbye,\u201d he said. \u201cFingers crossed that we get a really good idea coming into our heads at some point soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

There may be even more push for some sort of follow-up to the series \u2014 a movie, a limited series, or whatever works \u2014 given its recent award success. In addition to those wins at the Emmys and SAG Awards, Schitt\u2019s Creek<\/em> won Best Television Series \u2014 Musical or Comedy at the 2021 Golden Globes<\/a>. O\u2019Hara won the five major acting awards this year: for the three aforementioned shows as well as the TCA Awards and Critics Choice Awards.<\/p>\n

But like Dan Levy said, there\u2019s also a pressure now to live up to the hype and quality of the comedy\u2019s final season. (There is, after all, a reason Schitt\u2019s Creek<\/em> won those awards: It went out on a high note.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
