The unhinged man who rammed his car into two Capitol Police officers last Friday \u2014 killing one of them \u2014 was carrying a large cooking-style knife with a brown handle at the time of the attack, according to a photo released by police Monday. <\/p>\n

The knife was recovered at the scene after Noah Green, 25, lunged at a police officer with the blade after mowing two other cops and ramming into a barricade at the US Capitol at about 1 p.m., Washington, DC Police said. <\/p>\n

A cop shot Green before he could stab anyone with the blade, police said. <\/p>\n

One of the officers who was hit by Green\u2019s car, 41-year-old William Evans, was rushed to a local hospital and died a short time later, police said. <\/p>\n

Green, an apparent follower of the Nation of Islam, was also taken to the hospital after the attack and later died, cops said. <\/p>\n

Evans was the second Capitol Police officer to be killed on duty this year. <\/p>\n

Officer Brian Sicknick was killed during the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot as he and other cops faced off against a mob of frenzied Donald Trump supporters, who stormed the building in an attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
