“#How to Avoid Spam Robocalls with \u201cVerified Calls\u201d on Android”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spam calls might be the worst thing about carrying a phone in your pocket every day. Thankfully, there are tools to help with this. We\u2019ll show you how to set up \u201cVerified Calls\u201d on your Android phone using one of Google\u2019s own app<\/a>s.<\/p>\n

Verified Calls is a feature found in the \u201cPhone by Google<\/a>\u201d app. Google works with businesses to verify caller\u2019s identities, show the reason for calling, and even display logos. The Google Phone app can be installed on most Android devices (if it\u2019s not pre-installed already), including Samsung handsets.<\/p>\n

After you\u2019ve installed the Phone by Google app, it will need to be set as the default phone app. If you missed the prompt to do this when first opening the app, it can also be done manually. The process is slightly different depending on the phone, but it will be something similar to Settings > Apps >Default Apps > Phone.<\/p>\n

With that out of the way, let\u2019s enable Verified Calls. Open Phone by Google and tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.<\/p>\n

Select \u201cSettings\u201d from the menu.<\/p>\n

From the Settings menu, tap \u201cSpam and Call Screen.\u201d It may also be called \u201cCaller ID and Spam.\u201d<\/p>\n

Next, flip the toggle on for \u201cVerified Calls.\u201d<\/p>\n

This will take you to a screen asking to add your phone number to your Google account. This is necessary in order to use Verified Calls. Tap \u201cYes, I\u2019m In\u201d if you\u2019re fine with agreeing to that permission.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll be brought back to the previous screen and the \u201cVerified Calls\u201d toggle will be on. Here\u2019s an example of the difference between a regular call and a Verified Call.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s all there is to it! You\u2019ll get a lot more information on the screen for these Verified Calls, which will help you distinguish between spam calls and real ones.<\/p>\n
