A Democratic Florida mayor claimed Monday that a \u201c60 Minutes\u201d segment \u201cintentionally\u201d falsified a report that criticized Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis\u2019 vaccine rollout.<\/p>\n

The Sunday report suggested that DeSantis favored Publix grocery stores in Palm Beach County for COVID-19 vaccine distribution because the chain had donated to his PAC, Fox News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

The segment came under fire when it was revealed a clip of the governor\u2019s response to a question about the grocery chain\u2019s exclusive rights was heavily edited, according to Mediaite<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner was one of several state officials to come to the governor\u2019s defense on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reporting was not just based on bad information \u2014 it was intentionally false,\u201d Kerner wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey know that the Governor came to Palm Beach County and met with me and the County Administrator and we asked to expand the state\u2019s partnership with Publix to Palm Beach County.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also discussed our own local plans to expand mass vaccinations centers throughout the county, which the Governor has been incredibly supportive.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
