British actor Paul Ritter, whose credits include Harry Potter and James Bond movies<\/a>, has died of a brain tumor, his agent said Tuesday.<\/p>\n

He was 54.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with great sadness we can confirm that Paul Ritter passed away last night,\u201d his agent told The Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe died peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side,\u201d the agent said, confirming he had \u201cbeen suffering from a brain tumor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ritter was initially known as a stage actor, and was nominated for an Olivier award in 2006 for \u201cCoram Boy\u201d and a Tony for his 2009 starring role in \u201cThe Norman Conquests,\u201d The Guardian said.<\/p>\n

He also app<\/a>eared in a number of high-profile movies<\/a>, playing Eldred Worple in \u201cHarry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince\u201d and government adviser Guy Haines in the 007 movie \u201cQuantum of Solace.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his native Britain, the Kent-born actor was best known for the Channel 4 TV show \u201cFriday Night Dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n
